Contemporary dance

Dance is movement, freedom and inspiration. It allows anyone to express their personality. Creation, the core subject of the school curriculum, teaches our students to be creative and express themselves freely.

Information about the studies

Who are our studies for?

The study programme is primarily designed for students finishing lower secondary education.

Prospective carees

Graduates from the conservatory may follow the career of a professional dancer, choreographer or dance teacher. They may also look for careers in other artistic areas, in art therapy, physiotherapy and other fields. The study programme is also a solid foundation for studies at universities.

Graduating from the school

At the end of the six-year studies students get the degree DiS (Certified Specialist). After four years they take maturita exam in Czech language and literature, English, History of Dance and Related Disciplines, Anatomy and Theory of Dance. The most important and unique part of both exams is students' own choreography.

And the school offers much more

Dance Workshops and Seminars

Foreign and Czech dancers and choreographers will introduce you to new techniques and will help you develop your knowledge of what contemporary dance offers.

International Relations

The concept of contemporary dance is closely linked to the dancer's or dance teacher's personality. That is why our students get to know other points of view on contemporary and modern dance and build contacts for prospective cooperation.

Study stay in England

A perfect command of English allows our students and graduates to look for dance opportunities abroad.
