Changes in the admissions process from the 2026/2027 school year
In the 2026/2027 school year, the organization of the admissions process is changing, and it is newly divided into two phases.
Applications for art schools are submitted from November 1 to 30, 2026. An applicant can submit a maximum of 2 applications, via DiPSy or in paper form, where they state the priority of the schools. Entrance exams take place from January 4 to 15, at our school from January 12 to 15, 2027, an alternative date then from January 18 to 31, at our school on January 28, 2027. Withdrawal of applications is possible until February 2, 2027. The results (decision and acceptance and non-acceptance) will be announced on February 8, 2027.
In the second phase, applicants can submit up to three applications to schools with a national entrance exam, again setting the priority of these schools, from February 1 to 20. The unified entrance exam will be held in April 2027. If a student is admitted to a secondary school with a unified entrance exam (results will be available on May 14, 2027), his admission to the conservatory automatically expires, so he cannot choose. In case of success, the student is automatically enrolled in a secondary school with a unified entrance exam.

Who are we looking for?
Musical and creative personalities with dance and movement talent, who have a sense of rhythm, cultural awareness and, most importantly, an interest in the field.
How does the exam work?
The admissions process takes place in two parts and lasts two days. On the first day, applicants take the first part of the talent test and a reading literacy test. Those who pass the first days advance to the next part of the talent test, which takes place on the following days.

How to apply and what is needed?
Applications are submitted by the applicant, or in case of a minor applicant by their legal guardian, from November 1 to November 30, 2026, ideally via the DiPSy system or on the official paper form. The application must state the order of priority of the individual schools. A maximum of two applications can be submitted to art schools.
The application must also have the following:
medical report on the applicant's health fitness for the field of education 82-46-P/02 Contemporary Dance;
cover letter;
evaluation on certificates from previous education (7th and 8th grade of elementary school and their equivalent)-
In case that it applies
certificate of recognition of equivalence or validity of a foreign certificate;
application for exemption from the reading literacy test pursuant to Section 20, paragraph 4 of the Education Act together with a document proving that the conditions for exemption have been fulfilled;
proof that the applicant is a foreigner pursuant to Section 1, paragraph 1 of Act No. 67/2022 Coll., on measures in the field of education in connection with the armed conflict in the territory of Ukraine caused by the invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation, in the event that he is interested in increasing the time allowance by 25% and using a translation dictionary;
recommendation of the school counseling office for adjusting the conditions of the admission procedure
Participants in the admission procedure for education at the Duncan Centre Conservatory will be given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the documents for issuing the decision, in accordance with Section 36, paragraph 3 of Act No. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Procedure Code, as amended, on February 4, 2027 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the school's study department.
