On Saturday 3 October, Year 5 pupils, together with Honza Malík, took part in the first year of the mixed-genre dance performance Broumovská labuť (the title refers to the swan featured in the town’s coat of arms). As part of the programme’s line-up, they performed their three graduation pieces from this year, thus forming part of an evening designed to showcase the work of young dancers, conservatory students and university students. The students’ dance performances in the abbey halls were accompanied by their numerous shadows cast upon the walls adorned with Baroque frescoes, and helped to educate the audience about contemporary dance, a form of art with which the public in Broumov does not usually come into contact.
