Events in the first week of September
In the first week of September this year, the school set aside time for various artistic, sport and other team activities.
Education
Following the shortening of the 2025/2026 school year, which left us with no time for joint activities outside school, we decided to have the first week of September for a wide variety of activities aimed not only at fostering the students’ artistic development, but also at giving them time to spend together and with their form tutors.
Pupils in Years 5 and 6 set off with Honza Malík and Dagmar Chaloupková to the South Bohemian village of Komařice, where ‘Pod javory’ – one of the key arts residency centres for the performing arts and creators on the professional dance and performing arts scene – has been operating for ten years. As well as exploring the local area, the students learnt about the opportunities and open calls announced each year by the local association Rezi.dance, in addition to its support for arts education in dance and the biennial Sklizeň festival.
First-year students are attending an induction course at the ALTA camp in Budčice with their form tutor Lea Švejdová and dance teachers Renata Bártová and Kateřina Hanousková. Third-year students are spending time together in the Jizera Mountains, whilst second-year students are set to go on a trip to Pardubice, in addition to a tour of Prague’s architecture.
In addition, a workshop entitled ‘The Art of Listening’ with Honza Burian has been organised for Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils.
