Veronika Šimková
Independent performer, dance teacher. Mother of two children. She graduated with a master's degree (MgA.) in dance pedagogy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She received further education at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) and at many workshops focused on techniques of contemporary dance, improvisation, composition, movement research, somatic techniques and movement analysis, e.g. at CND in Paris, Se.-s.-ta (CZ). In 2006, she received the prestigious danceWeb scholarship as part of the Impulstanz festival in Vienna. As an interpreter and independent performer, she met e.g. personalities such as Paco Décina (I/Fr), Zuna Kozánková (SK), mamacallas/P. Nadaud (Fr/Cz), Jan Komárek (Cz), Mirka Eliášová (Cz). She is currently engaged in improvisation, site-specific projects with musical ensembles (e.g. Orchestra Berg), collaborates with the choreographer Mirka Eliášová at improvised performances, and is also actively involved in Iyengar yoga and Shiatsu. In her pedagogic activities, she mainly works at the Duncan Center Dance Conservatory and Emotion dance studio. She conducts educational seminars about the active collaboration of dance and music.
